Commitment: Volunteers must be committed to the organization’s mission of ending hunger and must be willing to work towards this goal.
Availability: Volunteers must be available to work for a minimum of 3 hours a week.
Age requirement: Volunteers must be at least 18 years old.
Skills and experience: Volunteers must have good communication and interpersonal skills, and be comfortable working with people from diverse backgrounds.
Physical fitness: Volunteers may be required to perform physically demanding tasks, such as lifting and carrying heavy boxes of food or working in a garden, so a reasonable level of physical fitness may be required.
Training: Volunteers must attend an orientation session to learn about the organization’s mission, policies, and procedures.
Background check: Volunteers may be required to undergo a background check, particularly if they will be working with vulnerable populations such as children, elderly or disabled.
